The Military Academy bases its Quality Policy on exacting standards that meet the requirements of the Higher Education Assessment and Accreditation Agency (A3ES) and the General Directorate for Higher Education (DGES), conducting the self-evaluation processes in a close articulation between the guidelines of the Military Academy Strategic Plan and the procedures explained in the Quality Manual and Quality Plan, in commitment to the Military University Institute Quality Plan.
The Assessment and Quality Office is responsible for three main areas:
ACCREDITATION OF STUDY CYCLES
A3ES, established by Decree-Law no. 369/2007, of November 5, aims to assess the quality and accreditation of higher education, measuring the level of performance of higher education institutions (HEIs) and verifying the compliance with their mission through performance parameters and the resulting outcomes.
All integrated and non-integrated study cycles of the Military Academy - as an autonomous organic unit of the IUM – are duly assessed and accredited by A3ES, following the quality standards defined for higher education, at the European level, and also by national legal provisions.
