MISSION

The Military Academy’s mission is to educate and prepare future Officers for the permanent boards of the Army and Republican National Guard (GNR), empowering them with the necessary skills to perform their functions, providing the adequate competencies for the accomplishment of the Army and GNR’s missions, and promoting their individual development for the execution of command and leadership.

VISION

Our vision is to assert the Military Academy as a Commanding School and a public higher education military university of reference (both at national and international levels). Its status is supported by its high educational and research standards, and by the specific service provided to the community, in particular within the domains of security and defence, based on the promotion of core values, and strengthened by the Academy’s contribution to the Army, the Republican National Guard and Society.

VALUES

The Military Academy develops, within the areas of scientific, military and behavioural education, a broad set of activities to support the cadets in identifying and fostering culture and values established by the Army and GNR. We are committed to practicing, instilling, developing and consolidating in the cadets specific timeless and core principles, such as:

  All those in the military life must be always ready to serve.
• DISCIPLINE:
  Necessary as a means to achieve unity of effort in pursuing the goals in view.
• HONOUR:
  It arises from honesty, determination and dignity in the performance of duty.
• LOYALTY:
  Resilience to hold discipline, embodied in the pursuit of truth and fidelity to ethical values, pillars of companionship and cohesion in the Army.
• COURAGE:
  To face risks and overcome difficulties.
• PATRIOTISM:
  A feeling of devotion, pride, commitment, love and service to the Homeland, even with the sacrifice of life itself.
• SECURITY:
  Essential to enable citizens to live in peace, democracy and freedom, which guarantees the survival, independence, preservation, integrity and solidarity of the Nation.

STRATEGIC DIRECTIVE

 

The Military Academy Sectorial Directive 2024-2026, following the same approach that has been guiding the fulfillment of the mission, aims to provide a perspective for the future of our Military Academy, in line with the objectives that the Army has set out for the 2024-2026 three-year period.
